Speaking
Keynotes that change how teams treat side effects
Invite Dr. Christine Boers-Doets to inspire your congress, care organisation or industry team — with a message that audiences act on, not just applaud.
Signature keynote
“Effective Approach to Adverse Events: Utopia or Reality?”
Managing the side effects of cancer therapy without immediately adjusting the dose sounds like a fantasy to many teams. In this keynote I show why it is achievable — and how small, low-cost changes in how we assess and act on adverse events produce big results, fast.
“Tiny changes take little time and not much money — but they trigger big results, instantly.”
Talks & themes
What I speak about
Preventing avoidable dose reductions
Why side effects derail treatment, and how prevention keeps patients on the therapies that work.
The TARGET System in practice
A six-step method teams can apply to almost any adverse event.
The patient as expert
Empowering patients — and the three questions every clinician should ask before treatment starts.
Side effects are moving home
What the shift to home-based cancer care means for expertise and safety.
Experience
Trusted on international stages
I speak at international oncology congresses, for professional societies, and inside hospitals and industry teams. Keynotes include DESO, twice, and KOK. I am an active member of MASCC and presented at the 2024 annual meeting in Lille. Earlier in my career I presented my research findings at the joint ECCO and ESMO congress.
My keynotes are available in English, Dutch and German. I was born and raised in Germany, so German-speaking audiences hear the argument in their own language rather than in translation. Recent German-language work includes a programme for AHOP, the professional association for haematology and oncology nurses, and a hospital programme in Vöcklabruck, Austria.
